    Hardware Installation

The programmer is connected and powersupplied by a PC throught the COM/RS232 and PS2 port. The programmer only needs the PS2 port for the power supply and doesn't occupy a PS2 port.

    Shut down the computer.

Connect the RS232 connector of the Smartcard reader (9) to a serial comport of your computer.

Connect the PS2 male connector (8) of the Smartcard reader to a PS2 port of your computer.

If you have to remove or want to connect a device that makes use of the PS2 port of your computer, you can connect that device to the PS2 Female connector (7) of the Smartcard reader.

The Programmer is now ready for use and the computer can be turned on again.

If you turn your computer on, the green led will light up. The Smartcard reader starts up in the 3.57MHz phoenix mode. If the green light isn't shown, the Smartcard reader is probably not connected correctly.
